The 21st Century is considered as the ‘Era of the Brain’.

The Korea Brain Research Institute is a government-funded research institute that has established an infrastructure for innovative brain study and laid the groundwork for research advancement since its foundation in 2011.

In these days, brain research is emerging as a prioritized field in preparation for neurological disorders such as emotional, cognitive, and degenerative diseases resulting from rapidly evolving changes in the social environment. Meanwhile, we have entered an era in which multidisciplinary research and collaboration between industries, academia, research institutes, and hospitals are pursued for the innovative scientific discovery.

To contribute to well-being of mankind through brain research, we will build the domestic and international networks with the aim of becoming ‘a leading global institute for brain research’. In addition, we will make a concerted effort to develop advanced neuroscience technology, using virtuous cycle in translational/reverse-translational research as a strategy, which will grant competitive edge in the future.
