Research on the wonders of the brain is one of the few remaining challenges for humanity. Regarded thus far as an unknown area, the brain sector is expected to have a more direct influence on our daily lives with the development of diagnosis equipment and information and convergence technology.
Countries compete fiercely for dominance in brain research. South Korea is no exception, with no effort spared for qualitative growth in an area sure to become an engine for future growth. In April 2015, the Brain Research Policy Center was founded as part of this effort to act as a control tower for policies related to brain research. Through the establishment of mid- to long-term brain research strategies, analysis of brain research information and trends, planning new projects on brain convergence research, and establishing cooperative networks, the Center works to contribute to the qualitative growth and commercialization of brain research in South Korea.
We will continue to devote our best efforts to faithfully carry out our responsibilities as a national brain research think tank.
